Who Are We?
We are a mother-son duo team with over 20 years of experience in the employment and recruitment industry. In 2019, we both decided that we wanted to do something that would combine our recruiting experience as well as our passion for connecting great people with small business owners who recognize that human capital is their greatest asset. Together we are Custom Hiring Solutions.
Meet Carey
I began my career in recruiting over 20 years ago working with adults and children that had a variety of developmental and mental health diagnoses. Working in this role lit a passion in me for developing specific roles within a community that would cater to the capabilities of each individual employee.
After spending seven wonderful years in this role, I made the switch over to amore traditional recruiting firm model that started with temporary staffing and direct hire. I began realizing that these traditional recruiting firms did not have the business models that supported small businesses, and that is where my true passion and heart belonged. After 13 years, I decided to take a leap of faith, and Custom Hiring Solutions was born.
In the past two years I have been given the freedom to do activities that I love like hiking, volunteering, and traveling that I normally wouldn’t have had the freedom todo otherwise. This is what I get to do for other small business owners. I know I was put here to serve others and after all the hard work that has led me to startingCustom Hiring Solutions, I still love what I do.
Meet Trey
My career began on a baseball diamond, where I coached high school baseball for 2 years after a brief stint playing in college. Coaching helped me quickly realize how passionate I am about being a resource for others, and helping them find a position they love and can thrive in. That rings true to this day.
I grew up watching my mom excel in the recruiting industry, building teams and businesses for other people. In late 2019, I was coming up on one year in the recruiting industry and looking for a change of scenery. It just so happened that my mom was looking for a new gig as well.
The opportunity to go into business with someone of her caliber was a privilege and combining that with our family ties made it a no-brainer.
In a nutshell, I spend my work hours as a problem solver for growing businesses. When not working, I enjoy reading, writing, running, cooking, listening to music, and watching sports (especially Kansas City sports). I believe starting each day with gratitude and goal setting is essential to sustained success.
